Belia Winnewisser from Switzerland is one of the artist you should look out for at Rewire festival in Den Haag this year. Winnewisser released a great album of leftfield electronic music with inspiration from things like Zelda, last year on German label Spa. There’s a follow-up to The Essence of coming out April 4. This will be a self-released EP and you can listen to two of the tracks below. Scroll down for a short Q&A with Winnewisser.

Q: What can we expect from your set at Rewire?
I’m not reinventing everything, but there will be some new tracks. As always, I’ll guide the audience through different stages—starting with something a bit weird and dark, then shifting towards more forward-moving pop moments, and ending with some dramatic intensity.
Q: Which other artists on the program are you excited about?
That’s a tough one—so many incredible artists are playing! I’m really hoping to catch Tayhana, John Glacier, AKA HEX, Clarissa Connelly, Anna von Hausswolff, DJ Plead, Colin Stetson, Lechuga Zafiro, Panda Bear, Colin Self, and Alessandro Cortini… Oh dear, I always discover more names I want to see! I might need to split myself into three.
Q: What else are you working on at the moment?
Right now, I’m wrapping up everything for my upcoming release on April 4th—a self-released pop EP that I’m really excited about. I’m also working on two different collaborations: one with Rolf Laureijs (a=f/m, Frederik) and another with Fatuma Osman (osman.fcy). On top of that, I’m writing funding applications and planning the next few months in terms of live shows.

You can find the new EP called Mirror here.
