REWIRE festival

This year we will be attending Rewire for the first time, which is so exciting. The festival is happening April 3-6 in The Hague, where it began back in 2011. Since, its reputation has grown become one of the most interesting festivals for experimental music in the country and even Europe. Soon it might even rival the slightly older Dutch festival Le Guess Who?, especially looking at the curation.

Last year Rewire hooked up with Shape+ – the EU platform for innovation in music – with a couple of the artists on their rooster joining the lineup. This year, Clarissa Connelly and Lukas De Clerck are joining the Rewire lineup, but there might be more announcements to come. Our local festival here in Malmö, called Intonal, has been collaborating with Shape+ for years and it’s always rewarding.

While we’re waiting for Rewire to announce the main venue of 2025 (it has previously been held at the Paard culture space), as well as their official playlist – here are 15 artists to check out in this year’s edition of the festival.

One of the inclusions is Rempit Gode$$ from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (pictured above). She released a great EP last year called Prime Energy and I’m really looking forward to her set on the Saturday, which will be her first in The Netherlands.

Rempit Gode$$ has curated her own playlist for Rewire, which you can check out below.

Among the big names this year are Matmos, Fennesz, Seefeel, Panda Bear, Oklou, Lyra Pramuk, De Schuurman and Arooj Aftab. Below is the full lineup so far:
