The attentive reader might have noticed that we already featured new music from Voice Actor on our monthly playlist Apple Turnover last year. But since most of you probably didn’t and I didn’t know at the time that it was part of a new album, let’s give it the space it deserves.
Lust (1) is a collaborative recording by Voice Actor and Squu, who is a Welsh producer by the name of Ol Bryan. The 14-track LP came out on Stroom on January 14 and of course sold out immediately. Since the previous LP got a repress quickly, I’m hoping for the same in this case.
The back cover calls it a ‘harvest of pleasure: sexy fun and farming’. Voice Actor was previously described as a project involving Levi Lanser and not just Noa Kurzweil, something that seems to have changed by now. The new record was created 2022-24 between Wales and Noa’s hometown Sheffield. Noa has also been doing the Breaking People show for NTS since 2023.
