In February Fire Records will be releasing a conspicuous ‘lost’ album by The Chills. Martin Phillipps, who tragically passed in mid-2024, started The Chills way back in 1980 in Dunedin. But the last few years before he died he had been working recording a set of songs dating back to before their first album from 1987. Spring Board: The Early Unrecorded Songs is a double-LP containing very old songs, finished and reimagined by Phillipps and friends – including members of Crowded House, Split Enz, Tiny Ruins and Clementine Valentine.
