Remember Pleasant Mob? I wouldn’t blame if you didn’t, we included them on Apple Turnover almost two years ago to the day – but even I had forgotten about that excellent cassingle on Feel It. No matter, Raidy Hodges from Chicago (and the group Spread Joy) is back in full force with a debut longplayer for the project – which has now expanded to a full band with the addition of four other musicians. The sound they weave on their self-titled 10-track LP is enviably simple yet profound. As is befitting of the label Inscrutable, which was started by Martin Meyer in St. Louis after Lumpy Records. A label that has had more aces up their sleeve this year than you’ll find in a pack.
