RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #225
Enhänta Bödlar is a Swedish 80s band that operated on the DIY tape scene. The sole actual member of the project was Lennart Eilersen, who used the alias Uddah-Buddah. He also ran the cassette label Selbstmord Organización, which issued their early tapes – starting with Experimentell Avrättning (experimental execution) in 1982. I haven’t heard this one, but Enhänta Bödlar are often credited with being one of the first industrial proponents in Sweden.
After bowing out at the end of the 80s, they suddenly reappeared two decades later and started releasing music on new labels like Börft. In 2022 they played a live show in Stockholm to mark their 40th anniversary.
Earlier this year, upon the 40th anniversary of their 1984 tape Lychgate Threnody, Fanfar took it upon themselves to reissue it on vinyl. Recorded with later Bob Hund member Conny Nimmersjö, who was still in school at the time, it consists of one 30-minute track and if you can get past the vocals it’s an interesting document of its times.
The LP is available from Discreet and a handful of other distros.
