Four years ago, Music From Memory put out the incredible compilation of early (as in 90s) ambient works, called Virtual Dreams. Now we have arrived at the released of volume two, which dives deeper into the Japanese output of that time specifically. There is was known as ”listening techno” and had a very natural connection to past musical traditions. Virtual Dreams II: Ambient Explorations In the House & Techno Age, Japan 1993-1999 includes music from e.g. Riow Arai (pictured) Dub Squad, Missing Project and Modern Living (the two latter from a Form@ compilation). Okihide appears with a track from the 1995 LP with Akio, who has since passed away. 13 track in total and out since October.
