If you paid attention in history class you might know that we featured Robert Rental from the UK in our 80s HITS series a couple of years ago. That time we wrote about his collaborative record with Thomas Leer. But did you know that in the same year, the Scottish musician also released a solo tape? I didn’t until Dark Entries announced they will be reissuing it in November. Robert Rental releases are few and far between, so this vinyl version Mental Detentions from 1979 is most welcome. The 9-tracks on the LP have been reissued on cd before, but we’re originally just demos put to tape by Robert himself.
