Has it really been three years since the first album from Dummy came out? It’s doesn’t seem that long ago that they did a mind-blowing gig in Malmö, Sweden. Either way, the Los Angeles group has returned with a second longplayer on Trouble In Mind. A label that I’ve sadly lost touch with a bit, apart from last year’s excellent Serfs LP. But with Free Energy, Dummy puts them right back on the map with 10 tracks oozing of vigour at a time when MBV and Lush are still seeing a renaissance. 90s nostalgia is not past its due date yet.
