Two years ago World of Echo released the compilation Songs ’94-’98 by Naarm 90s group The Cat’s Miaow. This was around the same time that Efficient Space reissued music by their sister group Hydroplane. Now, last year not only saw another Hydroplane retrospective, but also new music from The Cat’s Miaow for the first time in decades. This year World of Echo follow up with Skipping Stones: The Cassette Years ‘92-’93. This 35-track double-LP zooms in on the group’s first few years.
This came out in May, but one of my friends just pointed out that a completely new Cat’s Miaow EP came out a few days ago. Let’s Pretend That We Are Someone Else hasn’t been added on their bandcamp yet, but I trust it will soon.
