Fast Execution is a great name for a DIY punk band, and the Oakland duo of Alex Velasquez and Paul Igaz have been at it for a while without releasing much. A couple of years ago they appeared on a compilation tape from local label Dandy Boy. This year Dandy Boy’s been going strong with releases from both Kelley Stoltz and Yea-Ming. And last week Fast Execution had a 10” record out – which is my favourite format of vinyl. The 5 tracks on Menses Music turn the fuzz up to the closest thing you’ve heard to 90s grungepop in a while.
