In October the new and 7th volume of Mr Bongo Record Club is coming out on the UK label who have made a name for themselves with reissued of obscure soul, funk, disco etc. This time there’s a Danish track on there, from 1978. Also plenty of Brazilian summery tracks mixed in with new stuff – like the closing track ”Spring Has Sprung” which is a collaboration between Belarusian Soyuz, Sven Wunder and legendary cosmic disco singer Asha Puthli (pictured). Mr Bongo have previously reissued most of her material, so now that she is back to performing it only makes sense that they release something new from her too.
And ‘closing track’ actually depends on whether you get the double-vinyl or the digital. Also ”Too Damn Hot” by The Duncans doesn’t appear on the vinyl.
