Another group from Philadelphia, but with a radically different sound, is the esoteric Eyes of the Amaryllis. Assumably taking their name from the book of the same name, they formed in 2020 and soon found a home on experimental label Horn of Plenty. Last year they released the LP Perceptible to Everyone for them, as well as a 7″ on Swedish micro label I Dischi Del Barone. Last spring they toured the UK and had a tour cassette with them. It was released by Horn of Plenty in May as The Show Must Go Under. It’s a great 6-track distillation of their improvisational technique and you can check out the video for ”Salad Bar Jelly” below.
