Ultrademon, or Lilium Kobayashi, has led a long musical life from Kansas City, to Japan to Berlin. Having invented the seapunk style over 10 years ago, her current music has taken more and more inspiration from metal. On the new album Crone, which came out on her own Soft Architecture imprint last month, we get growled vocals as well as pop references – twisted beyond recognition.
