When Milan punks Lucta released Black Magic Punk back in 2018 the blackened punk trend was only beginning. Sure, there were earlier influential bands, like Sweden’s Dödsrit and Ukraine’s Life Is Hell, but more often than not that movement was more from metal into crust punk – while punk bands introducing black metal riffs seemed more rare. Lucta’s new album Eterna Lotta came out on Static Shock a few days ago and sounds like a return classic 80s hardcore.
