Jiyoung Wi a multidisciplinary artist from Seoul, who is based in The Hague these days. From there she works on fiction, improvisational music and field recordings. I love this image of her recording a fairground. In January her new album Accept All Cookies came out via Psychic Liberation and experimental US label Enmossed. They’ve had an ongoing collaborative release series (ENXPL) which ends with LP and the tape from Makoto Oshiro.
Check out the 6-track LP, which is emblematic of her method of “building and breaking sonic narratives by arranging and re-contextualizing disparate sound sources ranging from field recordings to fragmented anonymous dialogue”.
