Next week the experimental Intonal festival is kicking off in Malmö, Sweden, and one of the artists performing is Zesknel – or Zurab Babunashvili from Georgia. Zesknel is part of this year’s Shape+ platform and has long been a resident of Tbilisi club Bassiani.
Last month he released a new EP on Mind Controlled Rectifier, one of Georgia’s finest record labels. The Fly (With Conviction) 12” comes with three new originals and a remix. It’s a unique sound filled with breaks and off-kilter rhythms. It’s also the producer’s first solo release in quite a while. You get a bonus track digitally if you purchase the vinyl.
