Assassin is one of several aliases used by Scottish producer Erin Hopes. But a few days ago her first album as Assassin came out on the London label Wain, which was started in 2020. Immaculate is a collection of 8 tracks that have a kind of divine quality to them. Hopes’ typical super-speeded beats are coupled with ethereal atmospheres, yes, even piano. Closing track ”Take Me Back to the Astral World” sums up the feeling of the whole record in one title.
