Earth Ball is a new-ish band from Vancouver who have found their home on London label Upset the Rhythm. The improvisational group formed around Isabel Ford and Jeremy Van Wyck who have played together in Shearing Pinx and Behaviours. They started out releasing some tapes (the latest one from last year) on the small Vancouver label Isolated Now Waves.
Their first LP called It’s Yours in coming out in May, with 6 tracks that bring to mind likeminded groups like Sunwatchers. They actually live in Nanaimo on the island off of the coast of Vancouver – a town described as “filled with blown out old sea dawgs with tin coffee pots and loose leaf tobacco”.
