RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #198
Ike Yard was a an experimental New York group on the outskirts of the no wave scene. Their first release came out in Europe on one of my favourite labels ever: Les Disques Du Crépuscule. They released Night After Night in 1981, and in 2020 Superior Viaduct reissued it.
Otherwise, their lone LP was the selftitled one that came out via the American leg of Factory in 1982. This one too, available from Superior Viaduct. The group reformed in 2007 and continues to make music. The new release on Dark Entries however, is and unreleased album that dates back to 1982. Only one of the tracks has been released before, so it’s with anticipation that we’re looking forward to the release of 1982 in a few weeks.
