Helen Island is the project of Paris-based Léopold Collin, who was previously active as Trigger Moral. Having released a myriad of digital EPs and tapes in the past few years, the project has come together in a debut longplayer for Knekelhuis. The Dutch label is releasing Last liasse next month and it’ll be a 12-track drawing on years of manic productivity. The music is a genre-agnostic blend of lo-fi hiphop beats, dub, electronic pop and more experimental DIY stuff. Sounds very much like a Stroom release, in other words.
