It’s only January but we’re already getting the first Filmmaker album of the year next week. I’m talking about the new album Land of Hidden Variables that’s coming out on a cd from Opal Tapes. It’s a collection of 8 tracks that show the Colombian producer continuing to evolve his sound within very strict limits. There are still plenty of influences from post-punk and industrial music, but in a more free-flowing soundscape of broken beats and layer upon of synthesizers. A great progression from Latent Alters of 2022.
