Zeros

RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #189

The Zeros have often been referred to as the Latino equivalent of The Ramones. Whether or not their families were originally from Mexico is perhaps less important, but the group formed when these four kids from outside San Diego were still in high school. They eventually started playing in Los Angeles and released two singles on Bomp! in 1977-78.

Two years later “They Say That (Everything’s Alright)” came out on Test Tube. All of these singles were gathered on a compilation from Bomp! called Don’t Push Me Around in the early 90s around the time when the group got back together.

But it’s not until legendary Spanish label Munster decided to reissue the first three singles that they’ve been available on vinyl again. That happened just last month and I reckon they’ll be gone again soon.
