The Victims is not the only Australian first wave punk bank who have been receiving some reissue love recently. This year Iron Lung reissued The Vacant Lot’s only EP, called Living Underground. These 4 tracks were first recorded in Canberra in 1980 but have been remastered by Mikey Young and sound amazing.
The original release was on the small label Doublethink, run by Roger Grierson from the The Thought Criminals. The label also released the first single by the great powerpop group The Singles.
In 2014 The Vacant Lot got together again, actually releasing a new album in 2018. Or well, their first album. The Ark is available from Damn You, Records.
