Birdsnake is a new group from Naarm who are releasing their first mini-album tomorrow, via the new label Bathtub Music. They bring to mind other groups on the local Research label, like Elite Beat and Mouche. The 12″ consists of 7 tracks blending acid jazz, funk and dub. Birdsnake Begins is a sonic trek and every bit as vital as international groups like Yin Yin.
