RECORD TURNOVER 80s HITS #180
Model Workers was a powerpop group from the North-East of England who released just one 45. “Cry” came out on their own label Make It Yourself in 1981, but was recently reissued by La vida es un mus’ archive series Sealed. What’s more, they’ve added two tracks from a demo from the year before. Referred to as the Model Workmanship tape, I hopeful the rest of those tracks will also be released eventually.
While “Days So Fond” bears more than a passing resemblance to “Looking From a Window” by The Jam, the unreleased “You’re So Special” is befitting of Television Personalities.
