A trio of new Eora bands have been stealing the limelight this year – Carnations, Gyrate and Dionysus. Dionysys includes artist Annabelle Silk, Joel Nevile of Optic Nerve, Jamie Krausmann from Gyrate and Madison Scott from Concrete Lawn. The latter two also play in the excellent duo Gift Exchange. (In fact Carnations and Gyrate also share members.) Now the time has come for Dionysus to release their first EP, called Theatre of Dionysus. It’s a 5-track and out on Urge early next month.
Oh actually Alan Gojak who is one of the people behind Urge also plays in the band, who sound a bit like the original dark post-punk from Australia called Den.
