Naarm post-punk group Hooper Crescent are unveiling their second album in February. Essential Tremors is coming out on local label Spoilsport Records, who also handled the group’s 2020 debut LP. Across 11 tracks guitar player and vocalist Sam Cummins lays down some serious melodies while retaining all the angularity and abrasiveness of their previous work. It’s their first foray into recording in a professional studio and you can hear the results on first single “Late Night TV”, which appeared along with a video last month. Echoes of The Stroppies intermingle with American college radio and 90s indie rock vibes.
