Portland post-punk trio Collate have just released their first album. It’s been a long time coming, following an impressive 45 a few years ago. That one still sounds amazing – I played in our most recent DJ set. And the 12-track LP Generative Systems is more of the same: wilful no wave rhythms backing half-spoken vocals from Erika and Jason. The group have some upcoming shows in Portland supporting Sweeping Promises and Vintage Crop, and hopefully their Domestic Departure label will have the vinyl by then.
