Nat Ćmiel, or yeule as they’re more commonly known, is another artist that has skirted our field of interest for years. The Singaporean glitch/cyborg project known as yeule has been referred to as fourth generation goth but on the new album soft scars it takes an unexpected turn towards shoegaze with an absolutely gorgeous production. Just listen to a track like “Dazies”, which makes me think of Winter and would probably make someone like Kevin Shields cry happy tears. Also “Aphex Twin Flame” is my favourite title of the year.
The 12-track LP came out via Ninja Tune a week ago.
