For some inexplicable reason we’ve never featured Boyracer on RT. The group that began in the UK on Sarah Records and eventually ventured to America has always been revolving around Stewart Anderson. Anderson is also the founder of label like the legendary 555 Recording and currently Emotional Response, who made those great Typical Girls compilations. They’ve recently reissued a 2002 EP that was only released as a limited lathe cut. We Have Such Gifts sports the classic lineup that includes Ara Harcopian (The Saturday People) an Jen Turrell (daughter of James Turrell).
The live recording of their semi-hit “Vitamin B” is just great. It’s from their 1995 album We Are Made of the Same Wood, which is one of my most played cds. They’ve also unearthed some demos from 1994 and 1995, which was possibly their most prolific period. You can get both for free digitally through bandcamp.
