Pyrex is a Brooklyn-based punk band who debuted a year ago with a 45 on Portland label Filth Pot. Both sides of that scorching single are also included on their first full-length – a selftitled LP coming out on Total Punk next week. The 8 tracks on it are dense soundscapes that brings elements of hardcore into post-punk. The results are at times compelling, as on the driving, riff-powered “Sleep Therapy”.
