Dali Muru & the Polyphonic Swarm released their classic self-titled album back in 2021 on Stroom. The Berlin duo finally returned with a new record a couple of weeks ago. Well it’s both a record and a book (or audiobook). Basically being excerpts of Dalia Neis’ metaphysical thriller The Swarm that was published recently, it tells stories about the bathing culture of the Ottoman Baths in Budapest. Murmur of the Bath Spirits is simply split into two sides, consisting of one long audio tapestry. But the labels also list “track titles” like the shockingly brilliant “Have I Vomited My Last Human Remnants?”.
Simply irresistible, I can’t seem to turn it off.
