Grouse Editions is a new Chicago label started last year, that seems to pick up where Chicago Research left off. At leat they have released music by some of the same artists, including Understudy and Thomas J. Beckman. Yesterday several new tapes came out including the compilation Tributaries. It starts off with the Hunting Scene, a trio that includes several artists involved with the label, and a track that resounds with dark 80s pop. Among the other 7 tracks are obscure names like Existence Without Authority and Vulgar Cloud. My favourite track is the one by Claudia Odell.
