After a compilation focused on female artists, Elena Colombi took a different approach for the new tape on Osàre! Editions. It’s the first part of a series called The Male Body Will Be Next, inspired by bell hooks. The 21-track compilation sees artists of different genders try to answer how we can imagine cross-gender solidarity through music and art. There’s so much to dive into but let’s start with the tracks from The Spy, Filmmaker, Laurel Halo, Upsammy and Sepehr. Also very pleased to see that my friend Solid Blake has a track on it, called “Nix”. Elena Colombi is playing Grauzone festival this weekend so I’m hoping to hear a couple of tracks from this set.
