Lily, or Saeko Kamata, was a successful Japanese singer and songwriter in the 70s and 80s. A few months ago the London label Japan Blues put out a large retrospective of her music from the 70s – when she released nine albums on the Express label.
The double-LP compilation includes 18 tracks and is not available digitally, but you can hear the tracks above. It’s a great mix of funk, soul and soft rock. Below are Lily’s first two albums, which are available in full online.
