Bobby Lovesong, or Madelyn Strutz, appeared on Young Guv’s latest record but actually released a great album almost a year ago, in January 2022. It’s another I just heard recently thanks to New Commute and while it hardly counts as a new release she also has an upcoming LP on her new label Woodsist. Having relocated to Brooklyn from New Mexico, where she lived in a lockdown commune together with other musicians, she released Paris By Starlight herself on cassette. It followed her debut On the Wind from last year, which is the album that is getting a vinyl pressing now from Woodsist, so that’s not new either. However both are exquisite, mediative folk-psych records.
