The Smashing Times, probably names so after the Television Personalities song, is an odd group from Baltimore who share stylistic traits with The Young Sinclairs. Their music, however, is overlaid with the naivety of expression of 80s groups like Biff Bang Pow! and of course Dan Treacy. Their new album Bloom came out on the Spanish label Meritorio a couple of months ago and consists of 13 lofi pop songs.
