Katzengold CS

Malmö-based post-punk tiro Katzengold released an EP on local Swedish label Rundgång before the pandemic and then spent a lot of time perfecting their debut album, New Public Management. It’s been ready for release for a long time, but yesterday the cassette was finally released. The 8 tracks are heavily inspired by Joy Division and other bleak post-punk groups of the early 80s but retain the psychedelic leanings of the debut. The vocals of songwriter Chris Durso feel a bit more prominent, which works in favour of the tunes. Check out the video for “Casio Song”.
