The third album – and first on Rough Trade – from New Orleans synth-punk legends in their own time Special Interest came out a few weeks ago. It’s called Endure is anything but a struggle to endure. Accompanied by a video for “Cherry Blue Intention”, it also includes their previous single “(Herman’s) House” and their collaboration with Mykki Blanco. On the disco-inflected “Midnight Legend” you can almost spot the beginnings of a new band with a much more polished sound. But they still know how to grate on your ears as well.
