Bridget Chappell is back with a new album using the Hextape alias, which appeared on our monthly playlist last year. >:) is the title of the new 10-track conceptual album, also referred to as ‘angry smiley’. According to the Naarm label Powertrip, the album draws on “the artist’s experience both as a patient and as a guest researcher at the Melbourne Brain Centre” and creates a “secret world” of radio stations only audible in an MRI scanner. The sample of Pinky & the Brain in “Motor Cortex” is brilliant.
