Elaine Howley is an Irish artist based in Cork who debuted a couple of months ago on the Belfast label Touch Sensitive, who have also worked with Autumns. The Distance Between Heart and Mouth is a 9-track LP that delves into a retrofuturist sound vaguely similar to Broadcast. Following many years working with different bands (like the psychedelic group The Altered Hours), Howley seems to have reached a new peak with this project, that actually began as an “audio diary” recorded between 2019 and 2020.
