Rahill Jamalifard from New York may be familiar as the vocalist of Habibi and side project Roya, but two years ago we wrote about her very first solo recordings. Those have subsequently been withdrawn as Rahill recently released the new EP Sun Songs on London label Ninja Tune’s imprint Big Dada. The 4 tracks on the digital EP are interpretations of songs by Yoko Ono, Arthur Lee of Love, Shuggie Otis and Korean 70s artist Kim Jung Mi. The latter is sung in Farsi and you can hear it on bandcamp – for some reason the last two tracks haven’t been shared yet.
