Sometimes it takes me a while to get around to writing about certain records, for which I can only apologise. But I really think The Zone’s Prion is worth a listen, despite coming out eight months ago. The 8-track tape is still available from Australian label Altered States. Shockingly, I also failed to mention their first release Dredge from last year even though anyone naming their project after Tarkovsky’s Stalker movie has my immediate attention. The new mini-album from Oscar Parkes’ Newcastle-based project is mainly void of rhythm but not completely ambient.
