The absolute highlight of PLX was the set by Colombian duo Acid Coco. More about that soon, but let us first tell you about their second album Camino Al Mar that came out way back in February. They are now based in Switzerland and working with the Spanish label El Palmas Music. In their mix of 70s South American sounds, with traditional music like cambia and modern electronics they have found a truly unique expression. There are also elements of reggaeton, porro and Carribean music and unlike, let’s say, Khruangbin, it’s not a result of cultural appropriation – these are Acid Coco’s roots and their life.
