Workhorse is the project of Adelaide-based musician and songwriter Harriet Fraser-Barbour. If you recognise that name, it’s probably because she’s been active in an impressive range of other bands – from Introduction to Ripple Effect Band to Wireheads. After the first stunning Workhorse cassette from 2017, Harriet took to making electronic ambient pop as Millennium Cowboy. Post pandemic, Workhorse have returned with their first LP No Photographs. The 10 track album is out on Dinosaur City and might be one of my favourites from 2022.
