I hadn’t checked in with North Carolina label Sorry State for a while, but lo and behold they put out Cochonne’s debut 12″ in October. The Durham fourpiece who put out their first tape in 2019 have already broken up, but this 5-song set is a document of “female friendship, paranoia and desire” in the label’s own words. This is fierce post-punk sung in both French and English for fans of the likes of Negative Scanner.
