One of the compilations that almost made it onto our list of the best 2021 comps is this new instalment of Shouts from London label Rhythm Section International. While the original Shouts (from 2020) focused a lot on the electronic scene, the 2021 version aslo takes in hiphop, funk and bass music. You’ll find Melbourne-based Liluzu (who previously remixed Gordon Koang) as well as Pookie (pictured) from the same city (who recently debuted on Heavy Machinery). My favourite track is probably “3.15” by Yushh who runs Pleasure Dome out of Bristol. Check out her recent System mix for Boiler Room too.
