Claire Rousay has become one of the most talked about artists of 2021, despite having already put out a wealth of releases. I was so disappointed that I missed the live set at Le Guess Who, which took place in an old forensic mental institution. Texan sound artist and percussionist Rousay has already released a the massive A Collection this year, as well a new album called a softer focus.
In-between that and an upcoming LP, Rousay has created several new works – one of them a collaboration with More Eaze. An Afternoon Whine is a 5-track EP that came out on Ecstatic in July. More Eaze, being the alias of Rousay’s friend Mari Maurice, enters the fray for a mini-album of emo ambient.
