Naarm post-punk trio Dianas released their long-awaited third longplayer a couple of weeks ago on Heavy Machinery (and Blossom Rot Records). Little Glimmer is an ambitious 11-track album that expands upon the group’s sonic palette, which ranges from Sleater Kinney-style guitar figures to shoegaze. On up-tempo tracks like “Bliss” the record also reminds me of early Altered Images. Dianas are far beyond referential though, carving out their totally unique niche.
